About Richard
I am Richard Jordan.
I’m Richard Jordan, a Chicago-based actor and musical theatre performer with eight years of experience in theatre. Over the past two years, I’ve made a deliberate commitment to treating acting not simply as something I love, but as a craft I intend to master. I’ve trained through intensive acting programs, Roger Love’s vocal program, private vocal coaching, and one-on-one lessons with Broadway performers. I’ve also had the opportunity to perform with some of Chicago’s longest-standing and most respected theatre organizations in roles ranging from Dmitri in Anastasia to Enjolras in Les Misérables. I was even the youngest auditionee to get in a production of CLUE. But my journey hasn't always been easy. I've been told I wasn't capable of certain roles and, at times, that I should give up. Instead, those experiences became part of what drives me. Outside of acting, I work in documentary production, social media management, and directing. I'm still growing, and I intend to keep pushing until I become the actor and the person I know I can be.

Why I Do This
Leading by Example
I don’t know exactly where this is going to take me. I just know that I believe there’s something more ahead, and I think now is as good a time as any to start chasing it. For years, I’ve heard people tell me that I’m going to go far. People in my community look up to me, believe in me, and see something in me that, honestly, I haven’t always been able to see in myself. Maybe it’s time I started believing them. I want to lead by example. I want people to look at me and believe that who they are right now is enough but that they’re capable of becoming greater. I know what it feels like to have other people tell you what you can’t be. I don't want anyone else to let those voices decide their future. I’m pursuing acting because I want to see how far I can take this. But more than that, I want the journey itself to mean something. If I can become the person I’m dreaming of becoming, maybe someone else will look at me and realize they can become more than they ever thought possible, too.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. So here I am taking a shot.

What's Next
The Dream
I want to do it all. I want to model, act in film, perform on stage, do plays, musicals, and explore every opportunity that comes my way. Right now, I’m starting from being a nobody. I don’t have a big name behind me or a guaranteed path ahead of me. What I do have is time, the willingness to work, and a dream I’m willing to be patient with. I don't know how far this will take me yet. But I believe that with enough work, patience, and consistency, I can become somebody. And I want to see where that takes me.
